The unfathomable cosmos came into being at the word of the Eternal’s imagination, a solitary voice in endless darkness. The breath of His mouth whispered the sea of stars into existence.
Psalm 33:6 The Voice (VOICE)
Here at CCC, we are intentionally positioning ourselves to become a “House of Prayer” – a praying Church, where all we do is birthed and bathed in prayer.
The Bible states (and I 100% believe it) that God created the cosmos out of nothingness, and He made the heavens and earth by the word of His mouth. He spoke and things that never existed came into being. Out of the void, God called creation into existence. And the Earth, He made in six actual one-sun-and-one-moon days.
Though the world challenges those facts, I believe them completely. And that gives me great confidence when I’m facing impossibilities in my life. When my personal situations or resources are utterly inadequate to sustain my life, I remember that God can make something of nothing. If I’m not careful, my prayers become little more than ‘thinking through the options I can see and wondering how I’m going to make it.’
Prayer is not thinking with my eyes closed. Prayer is asking God to make a way when there isn’t one; to create a reality that doesn’t yet exist; to do and/or make what isn’t being done and isn’t yet existing.
Out of nothingness, God created what we see around us, and out of nothingness He can create anything according to His word. So let our pray be, “Speak, Lord, and do/make what only You can accomplish.” Amen.
