How much I love; not how much I know
Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn’t really know very much.
But the person who loves God is the one whom God recognises.
(1 Corinthians 8:2-3, New Living Translation)
Here’s another of those wonderful paradoxes in the Kingdom: I want to know more, and I’m sure God wants me to learn more about His Kingdom and His ways, and about Him Himself.
My calling is to grow and mature in my understanding of all things spiritual.
BUT, the REAL deal, the MOST IMPORTANT thing is NOT how much I know! It’s how much I love God.
I’m supposed to realise how little I know, even as I keep learning more, because knowledge will never be enough of a footing to stand on. Often, I feel almost foolish because I know and understand so little, but I take comfort knowing that my love for God has increased through the years, much more than my knowledge about Him has grown.
My understanding seems so small, but my gratitude grows and grows and grows.
How about you?
